Privacy Policy

We collect only what is needed for the app to work well for you:

• Account data: your name, email address, and (if you use Couple mode) your partner's display name.
• Financial data you provide: income, salary date, fixed expenses, expenses, goals and Save Challenges.
• Images you upload: bill photos and payment screenshots — used only to extract expense details via AI.
• Chat messages: messages you send to the Ask AI feature.
• Minimal technical data: device model, app version and crash logs, used for reliability.

We NEVER collect: bank credentials or passwords, your SMS messages, or direct bank/card connections. SaveMate AI does not connect to your bank in any form.

• Create and secure your account.
• Calculate your safe-to-spend number and monthly savings progress.
• Power the Ask AI feature and read bill/UPI screenshots. Google Gemini is used as a data processor via the Gemini API. Google states that data sent via the Gemini API is not used to train their models.
• Improve reliability and fix bugs.
• Send transactional emails only (like password reset or important account notices). No marketing spam.

• We do not sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
• We do not show ads in the app.
• We do not recommend or push loans, credit cards, insurance, mutual funds, stocks or crypto.
• We do not share your data with lenders or data brokers.

We process your personal data based on your consent and for legitimate purposes as permitted under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can withdraw your consent anytime by deleting your account or by emailing us at hello@savemate.in.

• Google (Gemini API): used for AI features. Per Google's policy, prompts and data sent via the Gemini API are not used to train their models.
• MongoDB Atlas / cloud hosting provider: stores your data securely in encrypted databases.
• Emergent (emergent.sh): deployment and hosting infrastructure for this website and app services.

We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you request deletion, your data is removed from our production database within 30 days. Encrypted backup snapshots may retain data for up to 90 more days, after which they are permanently overwritten.

• Right to access your personal data.
• Right to correct or update inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure (delete your account and data).
• Right to withdraw consent at any time.
• Right to grievance redressal (see section 11).

We use TLS/HTTPS in transit, bcrypt for password hashing, and role-based access controls internally. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with real care.

SaveMate AI is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or communicated by email.

For any privacy grievance, please write to Plintho Digital LLP at hello@savemate.in. We will acknowledge your grievance within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days, as required by the DPDP Act.
